Darkness returns; glazing day will resume.

The first glaze-firing was done on Wednesday. And I was able to send photos for a catalogue. I went back to making the last piece for bisque-firing. That was finished today. Glazing days will start again. I have three kilns-full of work to be glazed. Loud music on and dark coffee on. As I have been dry for a month, no wine for me!

Would I make it thourgh with sanity? You will see!

Artist Interview with GHOST

Hello! Here is the link to the interview I did with GHOST late spring. I loved it. I was unwell at that time after a few hectic months. I hope you could feel the rawness of being an artist from it. Published on the first of June. I hope you enjoy it.

Latest bisque-firings

I hope you had a lovely weekend! We are having a nice summer this year for change! :D It's warm and sometimes hot! I love it.

The first bisque- firing

I have done a quite a few firings lately. I would be very busy during the first half  of the next year. I will be out of the country for four weeks for an exhibition in Tokyo. Also my studio will be being built and there would be disruption, especially firings would be difficult for a while. We have got an application accepted by the city government for the extension, that would be my studio, but nothing has happened yet. I guess we wouldn't see anything happening until late this year! Cautious Mike delayed all process until Ceramic Art London even though I told him it would take months before even we could have the first sight of a digger! Oh well, cest la vie!

One back to back firing was done and I am doing the third one today. These two were in the second firing.

So far both firings went well. I hope today's one goes well, too!

Large pieces in progress

Since last week I have been making larger pieces for an upcoming exhibition in Biscuit factory, Newcastle, in September.

Yesterday, I was working from morning to night. Mike was desperate to tell me about the cat he saw during a dog walk in the morning. I had to ask him not to talk to me whilst I was working. Then, he started talking to dogs next to me! :D I had to tell him that I wouldn't be able to concentrate if he keeps talking to the dogs about the cat and bunnies next to me. I felt a sort of guilt that a mother who is too busy might feel!

Creating is intense. I must concentrate and listen to what I make.

That is the only way I could make.

'So, we had to listen to Mike's muttering! He is being a motor mouth right now!' (His colleague is taking a long leave!)

In the mean time...

The glaze firing was ok, but most masks needed another firing. That's on now.  I'm still struggling; it's the tonsillitis! It is back! I'm resting very well today. I hope I feel better soon!

Today I will share some recent photos!

I'm off sick today. I have had fever and headache since Sunday evening. Last night I loaded the kiln, and that was it. I was free to be unwell and to get rest today! :D Don't worry. I will be ok. I have to be ok, as I will need to get back to work!
