My little 'people' |
After a good cry, I started making little whippets and rabbits. It is therapeutic in itself, but then I felt my creation could cheer up those who have had a similar experience to ours. So I made more and more every day. One rabbit is commissioned by a lovely lady, so the others will keep her company. There are Mochaccino and Pumpkin in the front row. I will keep Mochaccino on my desk so that he will be always be with me. I might make his friends, too.
Tonight, I made this chirpy sweet girl. I giggled a lot. I felt I was a child again. She has got her own toy rabbit in her pocket.
My toy rabbit is in the pocket. |
Now I can say thank you to Mochaccino for having been with us for so long. We will remember all the happiness we have shared with him and his friends.
He had been always been friendly with all his companions, and used to sit next to them when they were off colour. I admired him, and I hoped I would be like him.
What a sweet gang of babies. I can just imagine them bringing joy to others and to you in the making of them. I love the little rabbit with her pocket pet.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I feel happy to be able to make these sweeties to bring joy to viewers and indeed myself! : )

Still making more. It is such a nice thing to do in winter evenings. : ) Thank you, Ilona. Have a nice weekend! I hope yours is brighter than ours! : )
DeleteIt is lovely that you find solace in your work. Your hands have magic in them! I love all of your small animals, and that special pocket! Very insightful what you say about twitter and blog friends. Hugs x
ReplyDeleteMaking has helped me a lot. My sadness turned to gratitude. Love, xxx
DeleteHi Midori, I'm very behind with my blog reading and missed the sad news of Mochaccino's passing. Please accept my sincere condolences. You and Mike gave him a good and long life and can be very proud of how you cared for him during his last months. Thinking of you at this difficult time..I know from my own experience that creativity can be a comforting and healing therapy.
ReplyDeleteHi Mark. Thank you so much for your kindness. We now feel grateful to that he was hatched in our house and we had had long years with him. I can't be sobbing when I think about others lost their beloved ones to illness. Yes, it is truly therapeutic. I still don't know exactly why, but it might be related with that creativity is energy.
